Rugby Union is more than just a wonderful game. It is also a strong, vibrant and positive group of people that support each other and their communities, both on and off the field. Rugby can and should be enjoyed by everyone, irrespective of age, race, gender or location. With the tournament hosting Under 21's, Open Mens, Open Womens, Masters (35+) and Golden Oldies, there is an opportunity for everyone to compete and enjoy, whether serious or social, city based or country.

The Springvale Cup is a not-for-profit tournament. It's aim is to support regional Rugby for all ages, and the Clubs, Charities and Towns where we play.

Join the tournament as either an individual player or as team and vie for the prestige of winning the Springvale Cup. Contest in the Under 21's, Mens Open, Womens Open, Masters (35+) or Golden Oldies divisions. There is something for everyone at all levels.

Support a Local Charity

Each year the Springvale Cup supports worthy charities within the town and region hosting the Cup. Over $100,000 dollars has been raised to date for flood and fire relief, cancer treatments, the homeless and those in need.

In addition to local charities, a portion of proceeds from the Springvale Cup tournament is fed back into local Rugby development through the hosting Club. The Cup also brings significant revenue to the hosting town through the hundreds of players, supporters, and volunteers needing lodgings, food, and entertainment.

Commonly asked questions

What date is the Tournament held?

The Springvale Cup is usually held just after the end of the Club season, typically early October.

This year (2024) the tournament will be held on Saturday, 12th October.

What is the history of the Springvale Cup?

The Springvale Cup was first held in Crookwell, NSW, in 2019 and has been run each year since then.

The tournament has grown every year and in 2023 became a "roving tournament" where each year a different regional town and associated Club host the Cup. This year the hosting town is Forbes, NSW, and the hosting Club is the Forbes Platypii.

Is the Springvale Cup a sanctioned tournament?

Yes, the Springvale Cup is an officially sanctioned tournament by Rugby Australia.

It is also a flagship event for Rugby NSW's Positive Rugby Foundation ("Rugby for Good").

Can anyone compete in the Tournament?

Yes! There is a division for all ages, genders and experience, ranging from Under 21's , Open Men's and Womens, through to Masters (over 35+) and Golden Oldies (up to age 99!).

Players include novices as well as current Open Club players and reps and even ex-Wallabies! You might find yourself playing alongside some of your heroes!
